In Atlanta NBC broadcasts a great weather map on 11.02. However this
channel does not show up on my Tivo guide. If I manually type it in I
get the message "antenna searching for signal" (or something like
that). How can I get this channel to show up?

Have you tried typing in the actual frequency, not the channel? If you
don't know what the freq is, you can get a list of your local OTA stations
