I have an lcd with dvi input (from dell) and a Audigy 4 sound
card that can take optical/firewire/spidif inputs. Is there
an easy way to connect the directv reciever to my lcd and
sound system to watch tv on it? I called directv and they
say it is easy, but the person i was talking to did not
know any technical stuff , so i'm skeptical.

Has anyone done it here already? Any comments if this will work?

Thanks,

I would recommend the S-video line for the video and take the audio from the ird straight to the stereo.
What type of ird do you have? Only the HD boxes use the RGB/DMI, if you have an HD use them, better quality picture. Otherwise, the S-video.
Take the audio feed from the ird not the tv, again, better signal.
