I have a dual DLNBF Starchoice dish I have inherited.
Is this thing worth anything or do they give them away? |

they have very little value since Starcrap sends their customers new dishes
every time they move. where are you located? I will give you $25 for it.

This Thread can go on forever with arguing. Any Satellite dish will do the
job even A Cband dish. Its the LNB thats the crititcal part. Starchoice uses
a Linear polarity on both of its Birds Dish uses Circular Polarity on 148
119 110 and 61.5 their 105 and 121 birds use Linear Polarity. DTV uses
Circular and BEV uses Circular. most FTA birds like 95 (T5) uses a Linear
Polarity. I have been installing satellite for 6 years including old Cband.
Been there done it all. I will add that the reason some people cant seem to
get a Starchoice dish with a BEV lnb to work is the angle the LNB points to
the dish. I have modded both styles of Starchoice dishes to work on BEV and
even tried a Starchoice LNB hooked up to a BEV IRD. NOTE It will work but
the dish needs to see a linear signal TRY IT. Point the dish @ T5 located @
95W and hook it to a BEV IRD you will get TV. Oh and for real fun I even
hooked a BEV LNB up to a large commercial 6' Dish IT works with one hell of
a signal.
So back to the original question a Starchoice dish and LNB pointed @ 121 or
105 will pick up the signal but thats all so they are not worth much cause
there is mainly HD programing on them and little else
Any questions on Modding various dishes just ask away.

explanation regarding 121. It is Dish's primary ETHNIC bird, and it also
carries the Green Bay locals, an important fact for Packers fans...
