AVL (Automated Vehicle Location) Device but NOT system |
|
|
Greetings I am hoping that someone might be able to help me out.
The company i work for has just finished building a Vehicle Tracking system
for one of our clients, our current system is run using cellular modems with
GPS devices built into them. We are looking at a possible expansion beyond
our current clients needs and looking at approaching some of our other
clients with this same technology the only hitch we have so far is that most
of our other clients are resource based industries who do not happen to work
in high cell phone coverage areas. For that reason i have been searching
high and low for a unit we can incoporate into our application.
What i am looking for is a unit that can send a signal via satellite system
(like orbcomm) over the internet or to another server which will send it
over the internet. However, we do not need a tracking system since we have
one built and usually customize each system based on our client's needs.

How about Inmarsat D+
www.satamatics.com
www.skywave.com
If your needs are only as an end-user & you don't have sufficient quantity to
get an account with either of these companies, we have a server in Canada
that can deliver the raw data to end-users.

I've been using them for 5 years now - couldn't do without them.
If you get in quick, there is a conference in Belgium in about 10 days where
all the main users will be together - best place to learn all about them.
