My 4DTV receiver was giving me some problems so I decided to do a
factory reset which I have done before with no problems. When I go to
call 1-800-500-9268 the CSR told me I had to order programming to get a
rehit to get the time an sats back. I dont have the money right now to
order any programming and now i'm stuck with the wrong time on my
receiver and not enough satellites to program in. Is there anything I
can do to get my receiver back up to normal operations or am I out of
luck till I buy programming? I'm really only interested in the free
stuff. I was mostly using the 4DTV to move my dish so I could watch the
the FTA mpeg2 feeds. If I have to pay to use my $400 reciever i'll just
sell it and get me a regular dish mover and forget about anything 4DTV.
Personally I liked my Uniden receiver much better than this one. Thanks
for any help.

The satellite maps should load without the provider doing anything. You do not need a
rehit for those. They will load from Galaxy 10 transponder 7. If you have a 920 there
will be no G0 icon in the default maps so use G9 at the galaxy 10 position.

If you call NPS they may be willing to correct the time, but I can make no promises.

I just gave them a call. I'm pretty much screwed on getting the time
fixed unless I shell out some money for programming. Which programming
is cheap but I do have cable and dont need any of the paid service on
the big dish. I can live with the time being wrong for now. As far as
the sat maps go is G0-7 a DC channel? If so its not showing up as one on
my receiver. and how long does it usually take to download the maps?
Should I leave the receiver on or have it off? I've had this receiver
for a few months now and i'm still kind of new to it. Thanks for your
quick reply.

Well it looks like i'll have to adjust my sat then. my quality is 1 on
that transponder and signal is 100 and jumping to 10 every few sec. G0-5
is getting quality of 66. The thing is I wasnt having signal problems
before I did this. If I can get this back working i'm not going to mess
with it again and if I have any more problems i'll just get my good old
analog receiver back out. I never had this many problems with my old
one. Thanks for your help.

It doesn't matter if the receiver is on or off. The maps will download if the receiver
gets a digital lock.
